Pick a month in YYYY-MM format, choose an expense category and enter the amount you plan to spend. Each saved budget compares the planned amount with actual spending for that month and appears on the dashboard. Amounts must be positive numbers, and everything stays in this browser on this device.

A user can create categories and set a monthly budget amount for a category and month.
